Overview    Residential Services    Commercial Services    Institutional Services    Training & Consulting

SolSource is experienced in designing and installing solar energy systems for military facilities, educational institutions, government agencies and not-for-profit organizations.  We deliver on time and within budget.  As a full-service ERCM, we assume responsibility for the entire design and installation process; beginning with the initial site visit to the final customer/utiltiy system walk-through.

Headquartered in Denver and working throughout Colorado, we provide a full suite of project management services and take a systems approach to executing projects.  We incorporate solar energy systems into new consturction as well as existing buildings and offer low or no penetration roofing hardware.  SolSource understands the unique engineering challenges of designing systems for Colorado's variable cliamte.

Capabilities:
We design and install solar electric, thermal and heating solutions.  Our goal is to develop cost effective and reliable solar energy solutions, which save money and increase the value of our client's property.
  • Collaborate - work with the architectural and facilities management team.
  • Engineering review - ensure that the proposed system meets all code (structural and electrical) requirements.
  • System design - determine the type and size system that best meets the base's space, power output and financial priorities.
  • Installation and systems commissioning - NABCEP and OSHA-certified crews.
  • Project management - deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Training - instruct facilities personnel on how the system operates.
  • Service - support on-going technical service and maintenance.
Military:

When it comes to technological innovation, the military is always in the forefront.  It's no surprise then that the armed forces are now the country's larges user of solar energy photovoltaic (PV) systems.  Military bases throughout the nation are installing solar electric, solar hot water and solar heating systems.  Also, in keeping with the Federal Energy Policy Act of 2005 and Executive Order 13423, military facilities are incorporating renewable energy systems into their operations.  The 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act also provided several hundred million dollars for renewable energy systems on Defense Department facilities.
In Colorado, SolSource is the leading systems integrator for military based solar energy systems.  We have designed and installed solar heating (Solarwall) and PV systems on Buckley Airforce Base, Fort Carson, Schriever Airforce Base, Petersen Airforce Base as well as the Veterans Medical Center in Denver.  To date, we've installed systems on over more than ten military buildings.
SolSource is an ideal partner for the military:
  • We understand the procedures governing base access and clearance.
  • The head of our Government Sales Division is a former GSA Contracts Administrator who knows the federal procurement and contracting process.
  • We have strategic partnerships with leading prime contractors, engineers and construction firms who work with the military.
  • We understand the contracting instruments used by military bases commanders, including: GAS, Federal Supply Schedule (FSS), Single Acquisition Task Order Contract, DOE FEMP
  • We have worked with the Fort Carson Army Corp of Engineers on Solar Wall project and other bases to include solar projects into their master plans.
  • Our installers are OSHA certified
  • Each of our installations use state-of-the-art, Web-enabled remote data monitoring equipment.  These units include a full weather station, which measures system output, ambient temperature, module cell temperature.

Government:
Our real work experience and familiarity with public sector procurement procedures makes us a great partner for government agencies.  SolSource has installed more solar energy systems on Colorado schools than any other company in the state.

Because of our capabilities and reputation, The Routt County Justice Center of Steamboat Springs hired SolSource to install a 26.25 kW PV system.  The commercial size solar energy system was the first to be installed in the Yampa Valley and is the county's first, publicly owned, renewable energy project.  In a unique agreement, Routt County signed a Renewable Energy Sale Contract with Xcel Energy, which will provide lower energy costs for the county as more "green power" is generated.  This PV system alone will save $238,401 in energy costs over the course of its lifetime, which will certainly be a welcomed contribution and combatant to the rising cost of energy.
